hola!

kathy is in the galapagos islands right now. I am beside myself with envy.

Anyways.

1. I started class tonight, and except for the most disagreeable woman in the front row, it looks like it'll be a pretty good semester. I actually talked to people in class, which is a surprise given my completely anti-social behaviour the past 2 semesters. Maybe I'll even go out for the semester-end pub night!

Ahahahaa, maybe not. In any case, I will rule P&L statements by the end of the semester!

2. Volleyball starts this saturday, and I'm excited because we get team shirts! Woohoooo! Also the league runs until April which was a nice surprise. That means 2 vball leagues for the entire winter and spring--hopefully my knees will hold out.

3. Anyone else running the CIBC Run for the Cure? It's on October 1st (Sunday) and is a fantastic event. There are over 30,000 participants, and you can either run or walk 5k or walk 1k. Come out and support this great cause! www.cibcrunforthecure.com

If you want to join a team, let me know! I'm running with Team Pandamonium =)

4. Habitat build was this past Saturday, and though it was just a day of painting, I have to say I really liked it. Especially when there was a crisp breeze coming through the house, the music was playing and everyone was working together in harmony. I would've liked to have learned how to install doorknobs/locks, but next time. Thanks to everyone who came out, and I'm on my way to becoming a competent homeowner!

5. I've complained about this a few times, but just to put it out there in the blogosphere, I'm tired of subpar Japanese food, specifically sushi/sashimi. All I want is the following:

1 cup of steaming high-quality green tea/genmaicha; a bowl of exquisite and pristine steaming hot white rice; a plate of sashimi so fresh it can still be moving (must include hamachi, tai, tako, toro, ika, maguro); a small mountain of tangy shoga; dark shoyu that has depth in flavour; and some wasabi, but not a mound the size of my fist.

that's it! is that so much to ask for? I should make a trip to Taro's Fish this weekend.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Look how pretty!

6. I like the TTC because where else can you get such a varied group of people in one place? Take for instance the woman I sat beside that smelled like she used sesame oil for her shampoo. Or my weird wise-cracking bus driver that would say such witticisms like "Centre Street coming up... Centre Street, the centre of the world!" or "I'm like Radio Shack--you have questions, I've got answers!"

7. Thanks, Janice for the JM info. I'm not sure if I'm up for braving Dundas Square and a free concert, but maybe it'll happen. I'm still a little shellshocked after having to endure the whole JM + JSimp mess. But who's going to be at HMV tomorrow to pick up Continuum? Oui, c'est moi. And maybe...

8. ...I'llgetthesecondseasondvdofgrey'sanatomy.ilovethatshowandi'mnotafraidtoshareit.iswear.

Go Cristina Yang! aka Sandra Oh

9. I made risotto (mushroom and sausage)! Hurray! I am no longer defeated by the grain of Arborio!! Huzzah!! And no one died after eating it! Woooohoooo!!

10. I hope everyone has a great day =)

Comments:
COME ON NAOMI!!!

You can do it...You just have to elbow people in the face if they try to stand in front of you while watching JM. Or the look of death...that ALWAYS works!

And i totally agree w/ you re: JM + JS...and I don't even like JM!

where is this Taro's Fish? I too am becoming exhausted by unfortunate sashimi.
