the end is near

i no longer have the mental faculties to write comprehensive entries, so everything will be in list form. Alas, the end is near.

1. it's been a bit crazy at work recently. we installed a new server and though everyone was really excited about it, there have been a lot of bugs. Tension between some team members has been elevated, and it's really unfortunate because I find myself saying/thinking "Oh, in your face!" more often when I read some of the e-mail exchanges. I'm so juvenile. Hopefully the kinks will get worked out soon, and the site will be running smoothly. In the interim, I have realized this job is seriously aging me. I look and feel haggard all of the time.

2. Volleyball leagues are nearing their end. It's funny how different my two leagues are. I think the most stark contrast is attitude—it can really make or break an experience.

3. It's really been bugging me, but there was this encounter at Megan's wedding last November, where I kind of got into an argument with a director of a non-profit over the marketing of products branded for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To make a long story short, I felt dismayed and shocked that she totally shut me down and wouldn't even consider my POV, and in the end I kind of just retreated into myself, face hot, spirits flagging. I realize now that what I should have just simply raised my glass and proposed a toast to philanthropy and compassion which would have just ended things nicely. I'm so slow.

4. The start of the building project is almost here... It's such an awesome project, so large that I can't really comprehend the gravity of it. Check out the blog: http://www.xanga.com/jgctbuildingproject

5. I'm wondering if blogging is just increasing my narcissism.
